A delegation of J&K Hoteliers Club today called on Director, Industries and Commerce, Mahmood Ahmad Shah to discuss various issues regarding hospitality sector in the backdrop of sanctioning incentives to various hotels located across Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation informed the Director that Hotel Industry has recently been declared as a service industry and therefore the benefits of reimbursement of GST as per MSME and DIPP guidelines.
They apprised the Director that the incentives which are being allowed to the Industrial sector should be also provided to the hospitality sector under 1DS scheme 2017.
The delegation also requested the Director to register the existing hotels, guest houses, and houseboats under the industrial sector. They also discussed to the expansion of ambit of IDS toward up-gradation, modernization and expansion of existing hospitality units.
In response, the Director said that IDS covers all of these activities and in this regard service sector special camps would be conducted in Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
The Director while interacting with the members of the delegation said that all their matters would be taken up with the concerned quarters.
During the meeting, the members of the delegation were also apprised about various incentives applicable under state sector.
Shah further assured the delegation that the registration of the service sector shall be fast-tracked and assuring that their genuine grievances would soon be redressed.
The delegation comprised of Chairman and President of Hoteliers Club J&K besides other members.
