Dr Samoon reviews status of upcoming Veterinary Polyclinics, Dispensaries in JK

Principal Secretary, Animal & Sheep Husbandry Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon on Friday reviewed progress on construction of infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir under centrally sponsored ‘Establishment and Strengthening of Veterinary Hospital and Dispensary (ESVHD)’ scheme here at a high-level meeting.

The meeting was informed that against 400 Polyclinics/dispensaries sanctioned for J&K, construction of 150 facilities has been taken up across the Union Territory.

Senior officers of Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and R & B departments of Kashmir Division also briefed the Principal Secretary about the status of work on the Polyclinics/Dispensaries in the Valley through video conference.

Dr Samoon stressed upon the concerned authorities to submit Utilization Certificate of Rs 1.5 crore works done to the concerned quarters so that the balance installments of funds are released timely.

He also stressed upon the concerned officers to take necessary steps to expedite the works on all ongoing languishing and other developmental projects of the twin departments for their timely completion.

Dr Samoon also directed them to take possession of the land approved by the concerned authorities for the establishment of Polyclinics/Dispensaries and other projects of the departments across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by Director, Animal Husbandry Jammu, Vivek Sharma; Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Poornima Mittal; Director, Sheep Husbandry Jammu, Sanjeev Kumar; Director, Sheep Husbandry Kashmir, Abdul Salam; senior officers of Road & buildings and Horticulture, Planning & Marketing Departments were also present in the meeting.
