Youth dies after boat capsizes in river Jehlum

A 21-year-old youth died after a boat capsized in river Jehlum in Banyari village in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday.

Reports said that a youth identified as Lateef Ahmad Dar (21) son of Reyaz Ahmad Dar of Banyari Hajin drowned in river Jhelum after a boat capsized in river Jehlum.

An official said that the incident occurred when the youth was crossing river Jhelum from Banyari towards Ajas in a boat along with his bike.

He said that the body of the deceased has been handed over to the family for last rites.
