To create awareness among the masses about the issues faced by the specially abled persons Department of Students Welfare (DSW) the University of Kashmir organised a Marathon for specially abled persons at KU campus here on Thursday.
The Marathon which was flagged off by Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad and Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir started at Maulana Rumi Gate and culminated at Gandhi Bhawan auditorium of the Varsity.
Around 50 specially-abled students from various departments of the University and from several other institutions participated in the Marathon.
In his presidential address Vice Chancellor, KU Prof Talat Ahmad said that such events boost the morale of the specially abled people and bring a sports aptitude in them towards co-curricular activities.
The culmination of the Marathon was followed by distribution of awards and participation certificates amongst the specially -abled persons at Gandhi Bhawan auditorium.
Dean Students Welfare KU Prof Raies A Qadri welcomed the guest on the occasion while as Shaheel presented the vote of thanks.
