The armies of India and Pakistan on Thursday exchanged gunfire along Line of Control (LoC) in Qasba Kirni sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
An official said that the Pakistani army opened unprovoked fire and mortar shells on Indian Army’s posts in Qasba Kirni sector.
“The soldiers manning the fence also responded the fire strongly,” he said.
However, there were no immediate reports of any damage from either side.
When reports last came in the cross-border shelling was going on.
