IED detected, defused in north Kashmir

Government forces on Thursday recovered and defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in HMT area on Bandipora-Srinagar highway.

Reports said that the IED was detected by the patrolling party of army’s 13 RR. The IED was detected by the patrol at around 8:00 today.

A police officer confirmed the incident and said the bomb disposal squad was called in who later disposed off the explosive device without causing any damage following which traffic movement was restored on the highway.
