Grenade attack on Congress leader’s house in south Kashmir

Srinagar

Unknown persons on Monday evening hurled a grenade towards the residence of defeated assembly candidate of Congress party namely Ghulam Mohammad Mir at Batagund village of Tral town of Pulwama district in south Kashmir.

An official said the grenade was hurled at the residence of Congress leader today evening “The device exploded outside the fence but no one was injured in the attack,” the official added.

He said guard personnel deployed at the house retaliated with few aerial shots.

Meanwhile, the government forces have cordoned off the area and a manhunt has been launched to nab to the assailants.
