Family and the relatives of Ishfaq Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Rashid Khan, a resident of Suzieth Gunipora, tehsil Narbal in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday appealed their son to return home for the sake of Allah and his ailing father.
Scores of the family members and relatives reached to Srinagar from Budgam, and staged a sit-in protest at Press Enclave, appealing their “militant son” to return home.
Ishfaq, according to the family left home on November 8, 2018, and yesterday on November 26, 2018, his photograph with a gun started making rounds on Facebook.
“We have faced many hardships till now, as our father is a heart patient and is not even able to afford all the expenses of the family, said Ishfaq’s sister Vazira Begum.
According to Vazira, her father, Abdul Rashid Khan was arrested by the police for two days, followed by the Ishfaq’s arrest for 13 days, Ishafaq was arrested same day when his father was arrested and then soon after his release, his brother Umar Ahmad Khan was arrested for 10 days. Umar according to the family was then sent to Jammu jail.
“Our father is a heart patient, we all have gathered here with the only purpose that my brother should return back to home,” Vazira said.
This year, many boys returned home after an appeal from their family to shun militancy and return home, and many boys were returned.
