Cold wave continues in Kashmir, Leh freezes at minus 9.4

The night temperatures in parts of Kashmir valley remained below the freezing point on Saturday.

Leh in Ladakh was the coldest place in the state where minimum temperature was minus 9.4 degrees followed by Kargil minus 8.5 degrees.

Due to the clear night sky, the minimum temperatures have again dropped below the freezing point at most places in the Valley. The weather is likely to remain mainly dry in the state till December 10,” a Met department official said.

The minimum temperature was  1.4 in Srinagar, while it was minus 5.0 and minus 3.3 in Pahalgam and Gulmarg, respectively.

Jammu city recorded 9.6, Katra 9, Batote 5.9, Bannihal 7.9 and Bhaderwah 2.3 degrees Celsius.
