A high-level delegation of Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) participated in the 3-day National Council meet organised by Private Schools Association and Children Welfare Association at Hotel Fairfield Marriott, Lucknow.
The PSAK spokesman in a statement said that the delegation highlighted various issues confronting the education sector in Kashmir. The PSAJK delegation was headed by its president G N Var and comprised of its office bearers and executive members M Y Wani, Farooq Fazili, Arshad Mehraj, Nazarul Islam, Waseem Ahmad, Nazir Malik, Ashraf Baba, Mustafa Bashir, Shiekh Zahoor, Shiekh Muneer and B A Shah.
“The delegation informed the gathering about the challenging circumstances in which the schools are functioning in Kashmir,” the spokesman said.
“The audience appreciated the efforts of Private Schools in the State for achieving tremendous success in imparting high-quality education to students in such unfavourable and challenging situations,” he said.
“The schools from various States shared their strategies and success stories so that other States could learn from the same,” the spokesman said.
“187 School associations and delegates representing more than two lakh schools participated in the mega event held at a national scale. The speakers deliberated on various challenges faced by the Private sector and the undue intervention of Government in their functioning,” he added.
“The gathering was also attended by eminent personalities including MP and Hockey Champion Aslam Sher Kan, MLA and Congress Leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan Uttar Pradesh’s Tourism and Women Welfare Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Prof Geeta Kingdom and others,” said PSAK spokesman.
“On this occasion, the participants pledged to promote Kashmir as a safe destination and promote student and faculty exchange programmes,” PSAK spokesman in a statement.
