Redwani Gunfight: Slain militants laid to rest amid pro-freedom slogans

Several rounds of funeral prayers were offered to the two slain militants killed in an encounter with government forces in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.

According to reports, thousands of people including women and children attended the funeral prayers of slain militants in Arwani, and Khudwani villages of south Kashmir amid pro-freedom sloganeering.

They said that multiple rounds of funeral prayers were offered to Aijaz Ahmad Makroo son of  Late Ghulam Rasool Makroo, a resident of  Qaimoh and Waris Ahmad Malik son of Basher Ahmad, a resident of Arwani both affiliated with  Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit. Amidst vociferous slogans, both the slain militants were laid to rest.

Two militants were killed in an encounter with government forces in Redwani area in south Kashmir.

Meanwhile, all shops and other business establishments remained closed in the south Kashmir parts to mourn the killings.
