Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders and actvits on Thursday staged a protest demonstration demanding the governor administration to immediately roll back its decision of turning Jammu and Kashmir Bank into a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), in Srinagar.
Scores of the party leaders along with other many activists and workers took out a rally from party headquarters towards the Lal Chowk Srinagar, to register their protest, however, the gathering was later stopped by the police near polo view from marching towards the Press Enclave, where the protestors had scheduled to stage a protest. The rally was led by the former public works minister, and senior PDP leader Naeem Akhtar against the recent decisison of SAC on Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
The protestors shouting slogans said that such action is fraught with the dangerous consequences and will push the state into deeper financial crises in the coming time.
“PDP has always been pitching for the protection of the state’s special status and will not leave any stone unturned to safeguard its integrity and unique position,” said one of the protesting workers.
