Clashes in Pampore after rumors of killing of local militant, 2 injured

Two people have sustained injuries after clashes broke out between the government forces and people in Pampore areas of south Kashmir’s Pulwama town, after the rumors of killing of militant Mohammad Amin Mir, from Pampore, in Budgam gunfight.

Mir was killed along with his associate in Mukhtar Ahmed Khan, in Zagoo Arizal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The clashes started after rumors started that militant killed in Budgam encounter is a local from Tral. Reports said that scores of the protestors in Kadlebal and Drangbal have started pelting stones on government forces. Reports also suggest that a woman was hit by a stone near the site of clashes, while a man has also received injuries due to a smoke shell.

The clashes in the area were going on when this report was filed. Meanwhile, an official from the police has confirmed the killing of slain Mohammad Amin.
