SRINAGAR: One police man was killed and seven others were injured when militants attacked an armed police vehixcle late Friday evening. Three of the seven are critically injured and have been operated upon in the hospital.
Police sources said that a Armed Police vehicle 853 was on way to Zewan. It was carrying the cops who were on duty for the day on the track around Pathachowk.
As it reached near Gamander, it was attacked by militants. Eight cops were injured in teh attack. All the injured cops were from JKAP battalion nine.
Bus driver Meraj ud Din was grievously injured and breathed his last soon after the attack.
Police said they have registered a case and the spot has been taken in to a cordon. No arrest was reported so far.
