‘Imam Hussain RA’s sacrifice a beacon of inspiration for humanity’

National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah on Friday paid tributes to the Martyrs of Karbala and highlighted the firm faith in Almighty, high principles of righteousness, purity of thought and highest degree of selflessness to uphold truth and human dignity that symbolizes Imam Hussain RA’s sacrifice.

In his message on the occasion, Dr Farooq Abdullah said the sacrifice of the Martyrs of Karbala is a timeless inspiration for all human-beings and an example of how truth and justice always triumphs over oppression and evil despite oppression and injustice. Dr. Farooq Abdullah said the piety, selflessness and valour that epitomizes Karbala will go on to inspire humanity till eternity and should act as a beacon of light and hope for people across the world. “Imam Hussain (AS) sacrifice was a pivotal moment in the history of mankind and proved to be an inspiration for not only Muslims but humanity in general to persevere against injustice and tyranny in the pursuit of peace and honour”, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said.

In his message on the occasion, NC Working President Omar Abdullah said Karbala teaches us the lesson of upholding the principles of righteousness under all circumstances and denying evil forces to make us succumb or bow down before them. Omar Abdullah said the valour and courage of the martyrs of Karbala in the face of unimaginable adversity and injustice should inspire us to not lose hope and work tirelessly to serve our fellow human beings and protect their rights and dignity.

National Conference General Secretary Haji Ali Huhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani,  Senior Leaders Muhammad Akbar Lone, Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, Irfan Ahmed Shah, Aga Syed Mehmood and Professor Abdul Majeed Mattoo besides party legislators and office bearers have also paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Karbala on the eve of Ashura while seeking adequate arrangements from the Administration to ensure there is no disruption in public services and utilities on the occasion and all necessary steps are taken in this direction.
