Kashmir’s longest surviving militant killed in Uri

Srinagar

Police on Tuesday said that the militant killed early morning in a gunfight in Lachipora area in Uri’s Zorawar sub sector has been identified as former Hizb Commander Abdul Qayoom Najar.

Reports said that Najar was the most wanted commander and one of longest surviving Kashmir militant commander.

He carried a bounty of Rs 1 Lac on his head.

Early in the morning army had said that it foiled an infiltration bid in Zorawar area of Uri sector in Baramulla district.
