NIA summon to KU student: If Aala is not released, will organise state-wide protests, says KUSU

Srinagar

Kashmir University Students Union on Tuesday while condemning the summoning of varsity research scholar, Aala Fazili by the Indian federal investigation agency, NIA, said that “if Aala is not immediately released, they will launch state wide protests” and that the government will be responsible for the outcome.

A spokesperson of KUSU termed summoning of Aala as “clear frustration of India”, and said that NIA is being used as a tool to “strangulate the genuine voice” of the people of Kashmir.

In a statement, a KUSU spokesperson said that summoning Aala is a clear pressure tactics to create a fear psychosis among the students. “KUSU stands by Aala Fazili.”

“Since India knows that the student community is at the forefront of freedom moment and are enough bold  to challenge the illegal occupation, to curb this India is using NIA as a new weapon of war trying to intimidate those who resist.”

“We are in a fix to understand that Kashmir University being an autonomous institute, how did the Vice Chancellor and the Chief Proctor allow police officials from police station Nigeen to enter the campus to bring NIA notice,” he questioned?

KUSU, in the statement, demanded immediate halt to the character assassination and asked NIA to shun this “Machiavellian deceptive spells”.

“By summoning our Scholar India can’t cow down the students,” he said and if Aala is not released immediately, KUSU will organise state wide protests and government will be responsible for the outcome.

Earlier, hundreds of the varsity students marched through the campus and raised anti India, anti NIA slogans.

Carrying banners, the students assembled outside the humanities block to register their protest. They carried banners depicting that the students stand with Aala.
