Batamaloo traders and transporters on Saturday attempted marching towards the official residence of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at Gupkar in Srinagar to register their protest. However, Police swung into action and foiled the protest.
Earlier, the protesters assembled at Press Enclave in Srinagar and held a protest against shifting of General Bus Stand Batamaloo to Parimpora.
Amid slogans the traders were shouting slogans demanding justice, while several of them were detained by police.
