Intense clashes erupted between forces and protestors when hundreds of men and women tried to take out a protest march in Old Srinagar on Friday.
The protestors were demanding release of detained youths.
Reports reaching here said that hundreds of men, women and children came out on roads in Zampa Kadal area and from adjoining Chattabal raising pro-freedom protests early today.
The protest demonstration was held after over a dozen youths were arrested on late Thursday and locals of the area alleged “massive damages by police and CRPF men”.
“The protestors tried to march towards Kak Sarai but police and CRPF men present did not allow them to move forward,” reports said.
“Forces fired several tear gas canisters creating suffocation in the area,” they added.
Protests were going on in the area when last reports came in.
