#Day83: Rajendra Sanctions Rs 2 Cr Relief for 3500 Injured Cops

Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar has said that Jammu and Kashmir Police have faced hostile situation while discharging their professional duties and in maintaining peace and order in the State.

He said that welfare of personnel should be our priority to infuse energy and boost morale of the force, an official spokesperson said Thursday evening.

Rajendra was addressing police officers, while sanctioning relief of Rs 2 crore in favour of 3500 police personnel and SPOs belonging to different districts of the State.

He said “Men in Khaki” perform in extreme hostile situations, causing physical injuries to various Jawans and officers, while safeguarding the lives and properties of the people. Keeping in view this situation, the department is providing relief to such personnel.

Rajendra said that the Organization, realizing its responsibility to help its personnel, has also introduced many schemes to provide succour to such personnel.

JKP has suffered a lot at different fronts, while ensuring rule of law and protecting life and property of people and the force will continue its services at different fronts of policing, Rajendra maintained.

DGP disclosed that more than 4000 personnel, from State police and other security agencies have been injured in different incidents of violence which include 1369 from South Kashmir and 964 from North Kashmir.

He said that cops critically injured in the clashes have also been provided financial assistance to meet out the expenses on their medical treatment.

He said that the injured cops have been treated in different hospitals including Army Base Hospital and police hospital Srinagar.

Rajendra said that many welfare schemes are in force to provide assistance to the police personnel and their families to infuse energy among them.

The officers and Jawans of the force are committed towards their spirit of public service and it is our responsibility to boost their morale, he added.
