Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) J&K Sunday condemned “unjustified and unfounded” recommendation of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to close the Sailan massacre case “against the duly identified culprits involved therein against whom the eyewitnesses have recorded their statements”.

“Despite this, the investigating agency is bent upon to derail the system of the justice with the sole purpose of saving the culprits from being punished. This agency has always played a dubious role against the victims of state high-handedness,” a JeI statement said this afternoon.

“In Asia-Neelofar case, the same agency saved the real culprits and got the case closed as untraced. The same role it is playing in this case too,” the JeI statement alleged.

Jama’at-e-Islami demands a fresh probe by a high level judicial Commission to take this case to its logical conclusion according to the evidence of the eye witnesses, the statement said.

The stamen further said, “Jama’at condemns in strong terms the use of the unjustified and brutal force by the CRPF personnel SOG of Police against the innocent people in Kulgam causing a huge damage to the residential houses and moving and standing vehicles without any reason just out of vengeance against the Kashmiris. These personnel behaved like the army of Changez Khan which invaded Baghdad and damaged everything which came in their way.”

Jama’at demands stringent action against the delinquent personnel and full compensation to the victims, the statement concluded.
