A Pattan Baker Murdered in Sumbal With a Hunting Gun

Police Thursday morning recovered a bullet-riddled body of a youth from North Kashmir’s Sumbal.

The slain identified as a baker, Rayees Ahmad Naikoo (22), son of Sonaullah Naikoo, of Tilgam Pattan had a bullet mark of 12-bore rifle near his neck.

“We have arrested two persons, Aijaz Ahmad and the owner of the bakery unit Rashid Ahmad in connection with the murder of Naikoo,” police said. “A case has been registered against them.”

Police said they have taken up investigation to ascertain the motive behind his killing.

Meanwhile, the body was handed over to the next of his kin after post mortem at Sumbal hospital.
