SRINAGAR
Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, a constituent of Hurriyat (g) Thursday held a protest demonstration in Srinagar demanding the release of all political prisoners.
The protestors led by their chairperson Anjum Zamrooda Habib, carrying banners raised slogans against the administration and in favour of “Azadi”.
The protestors demanded unconditional release of all Kashmir political detainees languishing in different Indian Jails on “humanitarian grounds”. They also demanded the removal of Public Safety Act (PSA).
Zamrooda while talking to media expressed concern over the health condition of detained youth and imprisoned political prisoners and leaders.
She said that due to improper medical facilities in the jails, health of prisoners is deteriorating on each passing day.
She alleged that prisoners lodged in different jails outside the state are meted out with ill treatment and alleged that most of them have been kept in solitary confinement.
She appealed the international organizations working for upholding the human rights and humanity to help secure the release of youth detained and imprisoned by forces.
“Forces have arrested the innocent youth illegally and are harassing them,” she said.
