Ahead of PM Rally, Frisking, Searches Intensified

Ahead of the visit of PM Narendra Modi to the valley, the security arrangements have been beefed up.

The police and CRPF Frisking have intensified in and around summer capital. The motorists and pedestrians are being stopped and searches conducted and their identities ascertained.

PM Narendra Modi is visiting valley on November 07 when he shall be addressing a rally in Srinagar. Hurriyat patriarch has called for a counter ‘Srinagar Million March’. Dozens of Hurriyat leaders and activists have been detained either at their residences or in police stations to stop them from taking out the proposed ‘March’.

Heavy deployments have been made and bunkers set up at the city entering points.

Surprise security checks are being conducted to prevent any untoward incident ahead of the event and also during PM’s visit.

Sniffer dogs, mobile surveillance bunkers and drop gates have been put in place to ensure safety for the November 7 Modi rally.

A special team of SPG (Special Protection Group) has taken over the security arrangements at SK Cricket Stadium – the venue of the rally.

Police are closely monitoring social networking websites to keep a close watch on those spreading slogans in favour of ‘Srinagar Million March’, on Facebook, Twitter or through WhatsApp. It had identified over 120 pages promoting the counter march’.

Syed Ali Geelani continues to remain under house arrest along with his deputy Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai while Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabir Ahmad Shah have been detained in police stations, besides other Hurriyat leaders and activists.
