Hours after a lady was badly injured in a bear attack, a police party on the directions of Wild Life Department killed the wild animal in Eid Gah area of South Kashmri Tral town on Tuesday.
SP Awantipora Tahir Saleem told CNS that a wild bear attacked Hameed Bano and injured her critically. Before this attack the wild animal had let loose a reign of terror in areas like Arigam, Umerabad, Pirnar, Norpora and Tral. We received an order vide number 71/TCR from Wild Life Department and were asked to eliminate the ferocious animal,” SP Tahir Saleem said adding that the animal was shot dead soon after it appeared again in the area on Tuesday afternoon.
