‘Sharik Responsible for NC Downfall in North Kashmir’

KL Report

SRINAGAR

Blaming his own party leader for “destroying the credibility” of National Conference in North Kashmir, the NC candidate for Langate Constituency Tuesday revealed that his party has lost trust of people in North Kashmir especially in Langate Constituency as former Parliament Member Sharifuddin Sharik ignored it and did nothing for the people.

“I directly held Sharifuddin Sharik responsible for the downfall of National Conference in North Kashmir especially in Langate Constituency. During his stint as MP, Sharik did nothing for the people especially for National Conference workers,” NC candidate for Langate Constituency Wali Muhammad said adding the majority of NC loyalists have left the party.

A retired BDO, Wali Muhammad whose brother was killed by unknown gunmen in 1996 said that whatever votes he will secure will all be his personal ones. “I have worked hard for people and they are ready to vote for me. In my own Lower Qaziabad area, people who resorted to boycott have assured me this time that they will vote for me,” he claimed.

Accusing his rival candidate Er Rashid for amassing huge wealth, NC candidate said that Rashid is luring voters by offering money to them. “Er Rashid is an actor who knows how to stage protests to gain sympathy of the people,” he said.

Wali Muhamamd alleged that very few people know that Er Rashid is an Indian agent and all his skirmishes with Indian army are fixed and maneuvered. “I am witness to it and it is true that Er Rashid spent 3 days with former RAW chief A.S. Dulat at Reshiwari Rest House in Nowgam Langate. It was on the directions of former RAW chief that he (Rashid) visited United States. He took scores of youth to former RAW chief and God only knows what they did or discussed in closed door meetings in those three days,” he said.

National Conference Assembly candidate said that irrespective of party’s ‘downfall’ in Langate, he is confident of victory. “I am banking on my personal votes and not on party votes,” he said. (CNS)
