After a brazen display of power by National Conference leader Nasir Aslam Wani’s son brandishing a gun, a photo of which was put up on a social networking site, people’s democratic party leader (PDP) and Member of Legislative Assembly from Chadoora Constituency Javid Mustafa Mir’s photographs were seen on his facebook profile in which he is seen posing with Gun, wearing Khaki Bullet Proof jackets.
The PDP leader according to CNS has posted almost many images brandishing with pistol, gun and wearing Khaki’s. People from his constituency said that the MLA mostly visit and address people in his constituency brandishing like a cop. “I have often seen him wearing Khaki caps, Jackets and holding gun. It seems he is fond of swirling gun in air,” one of his supporters told CNS.
Though most of the netizens mostly his admirers and supporters have eulogized the efforts he is making for the people of the constituency, yet a netizen namely, Mudasir Raina has commented on one of his images posted by the MLA on his facebook that reads, “Doing nothing for his constituency. Wearing army jackets does not make a person honest. He (MLA Sahab) should do what he is meant for.”. Another facebook user, Dar Nissar writes, “the Don MLA”. Most of the facebook users however has described Javid Mustafa Mir as good MLA but has sharply reacted against his style of acting like a cop. Meanwhile despite efforts the MLA could not be contacted for his comments.
When contacted MLA Chadoora Javid Mustafa Mir told CNS that he under threat feels nothing bad in carrying gun or pistol in his hands. “I carry weapon for my protection. It is only for self-defense and nothing else,” he said.
