KL Report

SRINAGAR

The Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, who is also local public representative of Kishtwar, Tuesday distributed ex-gratia relief cheques of Rs one lakh each to the Next of Kin of 10 deceased passengers of Ishtihazi Padder who died in a tragic road accident on way to Udeypur Himachal Pradesh in connection with Triloki Nath Yatra.

On the occasion, Kichloo conveyed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families. He said the coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to the welfare of the people adding that all the resources have been pooled to provide basic facilities at their doorsteps. He said the Government is always at the beck and call of the people in distress adding that common people should also imbibe spirit of sympathy and compassion in them. He said service to mankind is the best form of worship. He said people should know that the God helps those who help themselves.

Kichloo said the present Government is particularly concerned about the condition of people living in hitherto neglected and backward areas adding that it is for the first time that special budgetary provisions are now being made for the development of bad pockets exclusively.

He said the Government has embarked upon an integrated and comprehensive plan to improve road connectivity in the scattered and remote areas of the Kishtwar district surrounded by rugged terrain. “Unless road network is improved and expanded up to remote areas overall development of the State will remain a distant dream,” Kichloo maintained, adding that keeping in view this fact, focused attention has been paid in the planning process towards construction of road network in bad pockets.
