Life returns to normal in Sopore after three-day shutdown

Life returned to normal in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday after a three-day shutdown against the killing of local militant Mehraj ul Din Khan.

Mehraj a resident of New Colony Sopore was killed along with Top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed Jatt in a gunfight with government forces at Chattergam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

All shops, offices and other business establishments opened today across the town. Both private and public transport plied normally.

A large number of people were seen busy in purchasing different items in the market. There was no major deployment of police and paramilitary troopers in the township.
