Cold wave continues in Kashmir, Srinagar freezes at minus 2.8

The night temperatures in parts of Kashmir valley remained below the freezing point on Monday.

Leh in Ladakh was the coldest place in the state where minimum temperature was minus 10.9 degrees followed by Kargil minus 8.2 degrees.

Due to the clear night sky, the minimum temperatures have again dropped below the freezing point at most places in the Valley. The weather is likely to remain mainly dry in the state for next three or four days,” a Met department official said.

Srinagar recorded the season’s coldest night temperature at minus 2.8 degrees Celsius while it was minus 5.2 and minus 4.0 in Pahalgam and Gulmarg, respectively..

Jammu city recorded 8.7 degrees Celsius, Katra town 8.8, Banihal 1.7, Batote 4.6 and Bhaderwah 1.7 degrees Celsius.
