DGP CRPF Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar IPS and DGP J&K SP Vaid IPS and senior police and paramilitary officers including Spl DG CRPF V.S.K.Kaumudi IPS, IG Ops CRPF Zulfiqar Hasan IPS on Thursday visited South Kashmir to review the arrangements in place for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra 2018.
“The officers took a detailed review of all the arrangements en-route for the annual holy pilgrimage. The field officers briefed both the officers regarding various measures taken for security and management of the Yatra,” the spokesman said.
“Later on, DGP J&K SP Vaid IPS had a detailed review of the arrangements with police officers. The meeting was attended by DIG South Kashmir Amit Kumar IPS and District SSP from South Kashmir,” the spokesman added.
DGP impressed upon the officers to ensure that the vehicles cross the identified locations as per the specified cut-off timings. DGP directed the officers to take all precautions in view of any weather conditions so as to ensure the smooth passage of Yatra through their respective areas.
He also reviewed the preparedness for the Disaster Management and directed the rescue teams to stay alert and active for facing any challenge.
