Hundreds of people joined the family of Arif Ahmad Sofi, shot dead by unknown gunmen on Wednesday, to perform last rites of the youth in his ancestral graveyard of Unisoo village on the outskirts of Sopore on Thursday.
Amid pro-freedom and pro-Islamic slogans, the body of the 26-year-old Arif was laid to rest this afternoon. The sloganeering reached feverish pitch when the body was laid to rest.
