JKTDC, JK Arts Emporium, JK State Handloom Development employees protest in Srinagar

Srinagar

A protest demonstration was held on Monday by the employees of J&K Arts Emporium, J&K State Handloom Development Corporation, LTD and J&K HPMC under the leadership of State Workers Federation Union and JKTDC Employees Union at press colony Srinagar.

The protestors were aghast with the governments for non-payment of their salaries for past 7-8 months.They were protesting that the government is pushing them too far by not clearing their dues regularly

Wajahat Hussain, State Worker Federation’s president said that the government is planning to implement 7th pay commission soon but what will happen to us? We the employees of Arts emporium, Handloom Development Corporation and HPMC are left in the lurch.

He said that Finance minister Haseeb Drabu had recently mentioned them in his statement that in coming session of the assembly he will put a proposal of implementing 7th pay commission.  “We appeal government not to ignore the private sector,” Wajahat added.
