In order to get firsthand appraisal about the dismal performance of some schools of Kashmir Valley, Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo on Sunday conducted an extensive tour of Uri in the District Baramulla.
The spokesman said Director Education interacted with students, teachers, parents and members of civil society. On the occasion, he directed the Chief Education Officer concerned to start remedial classes forthwith for students who could not pass 10th class examination.
He visited High School Dhani Syeda, Uri and interacted with civil society. Director Education on the occasion advised the parents to ensure complete attendance of students in schools so that their precious time does not go waste. He expressed satisfaction over the excellent results shown by some schools in the area where not only 90-100% results were achieved but scores of students have achieved distinctions in 10th and 12th class examinations.
During his visit Director ordered for immediately taking up works of the wall and floor tiling of High School Dhani Syeda and asked the Chief Education Officer, Baramulla and ZEO concerned to make frequent visits to the schools located in hilly areas.
Representatives from Civil Administration, prominent members of Civil Society and Educational Administrators assured Director Education that no stone will be left unturned in achieving the best possible results in future from Government schools.
Joint Director Trainings (Principal SIE), who has been designated as a Nodal officer for monitoring the remedial classes, also interacted with the students and parents.
Chief Education Officer, Baramulla Abdul Ahad Insha, DEPO Baramulla, Mehraj ud din, Cultural Officer DSEK, GN Shakir, and other officers accompanied the Director Education.
