DC Islamabad appeals army to vacate from Shamsipora village

The Deputy Magistrate Islamabad on Saturday appealed the army to vacate the camp being installed at Sports Stadium Shamsipora area of district Islamabad.

As per the reports, Deputy Magistrate Islamabad has appealed the army to vacate the camp immediately to avoid the law and order problem.

Pertinently, NC legislator from Home-Shalibugh constituency Abdul Majeed Larmi on Saturday staged protests inside the legislative assembly over the setting up of the camp.

Earlier on Saturday, National Conference (NC) MLA’s staged a walkout in the assembly over setting up of an army camp in Shamsipora village of Home-Shalibugh area of south Kashmir.

NC Legislator Abdul Majeed Larmi, who represents Home-shalibugh stood up from his seat and demanded an immediate solution for the issue.

Meanwhile, Police has detained the independent lawmaker and MLA Langate Rasheed on his way to Homeshalibugh village of Islamabad where People were protesting against establishing a proposed Army Camp.

The AIP Spokesman said in a statement said that as soon as Rasheed reached Galandhar a heavy contingent of police detained him and was lodged in Police Station Pantha Chowk.

Party spokesman Maajid Banday while condemning the incident said that it is shameful on part of the government that it has not been able to fulfil the promise made with the people of Shamsipora which was made on Friday in presence of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad.
