Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said that 2,53,432 lakh applications received seeking ownership rights of State land under the Roshni Act.
In a written reply to a question by MLA Aijaz Khan, Minister Incharge revenue Abdul Rahman Veeri told the house that government has received 2,53,432 lakh applications seeking ownership rights under the Roshni Act.
He said around 71,831 applications are pending before the government and 12,9144 applications have been rejected.
The minister further informed the House that the highest number of applications ( 18599) that were rejected came from Rajouri district, followed by Jammu at 16435.
The minister in his reply stated that 9061 out of 17069 applications were rejected in Anantnag while as 4852 applications were pending in the district.
As per the government reply, 1954 out of 7460 applications were rejected in Bandipora and 3030 are pending.
In Kupwara, 5456 applications were rejected, 2834 in Pulwama, 4574 in Shopian and 4817 in Srinagar, the government said.
“ 3896 applications have been rejected in Baramulla and 10943 applications were rejected in Budgam,” the minister informed the House.
The minister in his reply further said that the number of rejected applications was 5182 in Ganderbal district while as 2471 out of 5283 applications were rejected in Kulgam district.
