Pulwama Shuts on 2nd Death anniversary of local militant

A complete shutdown is being observed in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday on the 2nd death anniversary of a local militant who was killed in a brief gunfight on this day in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Sources said Omais Ahmad Shiekh alias Abu Hamza son of Farooq Ahmad of Chatapora village was killed in an encounter with the government forces in north Kashmir’s Ajas village of Bandipora in 2015.
According to eyewitnesses, all the shops and business establishments are closed in Pulwama while the traffic is thin on roads.
Till last reports came there was minor clashes and stone pelting going on.
