India, Pakistan armies exchange fire, one killed

SRINAGAR: India and Pakistan armies have resumed shelling on each other’s positions in Nowshehra sector falling in Rajouri district, reports reaching here. At least one soldier is reported killed in the fire exchange.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the slain soldier belongs to 19 Punjab regiment and the fire exchange was reported from Rumil Dhara in Dagwar belt.

The LoC in Rajouri sector has been highly active for last few weeks. The shelling triggered massive migrations from certain borer belts as shells landed on civilian populations killing people. More recently, four army men including a Major rank officer were killed in an ambush by the Pakistani army in the area.
