Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety, and enthusiasm across Kashmir on Friday.
Despite the chilly weather, thousands of devotees thronged the Hazartbal Mosque, which also houses the relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), here on the banks of Dal Lake, to have a glimpse of the holy relic.
The devotees offered congregational Friday prayers at the Mosque.
Thousands of devotees had also participated in the night-long prayers preceding night and sought peace, mercy, and blessings from Almighty Allah.
Emotional scenes were witnessed during the display of holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (Saw), with tears rolling down from the eyes of devotees while raising their hands for prayers reciting Quranic verses and Durood.
Various religious and social organizations organized Seerat programmes and Milad processions were taken out at many places where speakers highlighted various aspects of the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Special Friday congregational prayers were organized at Jenab Sahab Soura, Asar-e-Sharif Shahri Kalashpora, Khanqah-e-Maula, Ziarat Hazrat Dastgeer Sahab (RA), Syed Yaqoob Sahab (RA) Sonwar, Khawaja Naqshband Sahab (RA) and Ziarat Makhdoom Sahib (RA).
In Southern Kashmir, thousands of devotees thronged Khiram-Hazratbal Shrine at Islamabad district, which also houses the Holy relic Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). After the culmination of congregational prayers, the Holy Relic was displayed. The devotees prayed for the peace and prosperity of the Kashmir.
Several small and large rallies were taken out in Pulwama, Islamabad and Shopian districts of the South Kashmir. The devotees holding green flags and banners raised slogans in praise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and emphasized on the teachings of Islam. Major congregations were held at Kabba Marg, Jamia Masjid Reshi Bazar, Dooru and Seer Hamdan.
In Central and North Kashmir districts, similar processions were reported from Bandipora, Tangmarg, Beerwah, Kangan, Sumbal and other places.
In Budgam, a large congregation was held at the shrine of a famous saint, Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din Noraani (RA), at Charar-e-Shareef and Ziayarat of Hazrat Syed Hussain Simnani (RA).
In Ganderbal special congregation were held in different places, several rallies were taken out across the district, which reverberated with pro-Islam slogans.
In Baramulla and Kupwara, Eid Milad was celebrated with huge enthusiasm with thousands of people participating in processions.
