BSNL landlines defunct in Kupwara villages

SRINAGAR: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited landline subscribers of Poshpora and Kunan villages of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have decried the inordinate delay in restoration of their landlines.

A delegation of BSNL customers led by Rameez Raja Bhat told Kashmir Life that for last 15 days landlines at Poshpora and Kunan villages of Trehgam tehsil are not functioning.

Bhat said the cables were damaged by the Roads and Buildings Department  (R&B) during road widening work on the Kupwara –Trehgam road. However, despite repeated complaints, BSNL authorities are letting their customers suffer by not making any effort to repair the cables.

Meanwhile, they urged the General Manager BSNL to personally intervene in the issue and redress their grievances at the earliest.
