A gunfight broke out in Waghama area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district following a search operation launched by the government forces on Tuesday.
Reports said that forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation following inputs about the presence of militants in Waghama village.
They said that a gunfight broke out after the militants opened fire on a search party of the forces.
This is the second encounter in Anantnag district in the past 24 hours.
