SRINAGAR: Two days after the killing of two local militants in Hardshiva area of Sopore, government forces on Saturday laid a siege to Gundbrath area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources said that acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants in the village, a mixed contingent of government forces including Army’s 22RR, SOG Sopore and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Gund-Brath and sealed all entry and exits points in the area.
The search operation in the village was going on when this report was filed
Pertinently, on Thursday two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in 8-hour gunfight at Hardshiva Sopore.
