SRINAGAR: Strongly condemning the forcibly land Acquisition and Possession of Kisans land with the help of a big contingent of Police during midnight of 24-25 June by the government required for construction of semi Ring Road in villages Halqa, Chano Chak, Hira Chak, Tikiri Dayalan, Kalase Chak and Karloop in Tehsil Marh, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Former Minister and Senior leader Jammu and Kashmir National Conference said it depicts the mindset and Anti Kisan Policies of BJP Government.
“It is doublespeak. He said it is high handedness on the part of the Government which is not acceptable. Rule of Law must prevail, we are living in the world’s largest democracy,” Sadhotra added.
He said that most of the Kisans (Land Owners) have not got even a single penny of compensation as yet and their case has been recommended for National Lok Adalat by the Deputy Commissioner Jammu and J&K High Court has also given its judgment for compensation in similar cases in Kashmir.
He also alleged that Government has fixed very meagre compensation in Marh Tehsil, as compared to compensation disbursed by the Telecommunication department in Marh Tehsil while acquiring the land for installing Towers in Marh Tehsil. “The decision of the Hon’ble High Court of Kashmir Bench, has also been ignored,” former Minister said.
National Conference leader said such inhuman act of the Government has created scared, sense of insecurity and atmosphere of mistrust which will lead to further alienation. At this critical juncture, the people of Marh are also unitedly fighting a war against Covid-19 Pandemic along with rest of the country and are strongly standing with the Nation at this time of Sino-India face off at Galwan valley.
Sadhotra further added that Kisans are facing ever worst type of economic crisis, Government instead of providing any type of economic relief by cash transfer, it has further added to the miseries of the Kisans. It is very sad and unfortunate.
The people of Marh are always for development. They must be given their rightful adequate compensation for their agricultural land as is being given in other parts of the State and the Country, he said.
Sadhtora has also demanded that Anti Corruption Bureau inquiry into the disbursement of compensation and survey of the land required for construction of semi Ring Road in Jammu District.
He alleged that there is variation in the survey and wrong compensation has been given.
