Focus Pre Primary Education to strengthen foundation of students: Samoon to Teachers

SRINAGAR: The five-day long online Professional Development Program on Pre Primary Education being organized under Samagra Shiksha concluded on Tuesday.

The programme was conducted in association with Ampersand Group of Mumbai which is a leading Education Provider in-country and abroad.

40 participants attended this unique webinar-based programme who are working in different Government Schools of Kashmir.

On the onset, Principal Secretary School Education, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon congratulated all the participants who successfully completed the week-long program with dedication and sincerity. Dr.Samoon expressed gratitude to Ampersand Group and their team who in spite of prevailing conditions managed to organize this program in a smooth manner.

While appreciating the efforts of Samagra Shiksha and Directorate of School Education Kashmir; he stressed that it’s the need of the hour to focus more on pre-primary education so as to strengthen the foundation of early childhood and imparting right education at right time in order to generate a learned society.

The Principal Secretary also emphasised on adopting NCERT frameworks more extensively especially for lower classes in Government Schools.

Dr Samoon suggested the Ampersand Group nominate some of the best participants and sponsor them to provide hands-on experiences at other parts of the country as a part of capacity building.

Director School Education, Kashmir, Younis Malik, who also attended the valedictory session lauded the teachers and trainers who consistently carried the programme in a persuasive manner.

Younis suggested that existing infrastructure including that of DIETs and SIEs can be utilized for conducting such training on larger scales in future after the prevailing conditions improve.

Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Dr.Arun Manhas expressed gratitude to Principal Secretary for making such projects to see the light of day without involving minimum administrative hiccups.

Dr Manhas while congratulating the participants also thanked Ampersand Group and Director School Education Kashmir for all cooperation and coordination they rendered to make this program a true success.

Dr Reeta Sonawat also spoke on the occasion.

Lastly, Rustom Kerawala who is also the Founder and CEO of Ampersand Group also addressed the house and expressed his sincere gratitude to Principal Secretary School Education, Directors, participants and all the team members involved in organizing the program.
