Civilian killed in cross LoC firing in Tangdhar

Srinagar

A civilian was killed and four others were injured after India and Pakistani armies exchange shelling in Tangdhar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official said that Pakistani troops resorted to firing in Tangdhar area on Monday evening.

“Some of the shells landed in civilian areas, resulting in the death of a civilian and injuries to four others in Tadd village,” he said.

All the injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The deceased was identified as Mohammed Saleem Awan a resident of Tadd.

On Sunday, one army personnel was injured in Gurez sector of Bandipora district.
