JAMMU: Lauding the intellect, resilience, sense of understanding and the spirit of assimilation of Kashmiri Pandits, National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana has said that they can play a role of a bridge between various communities in Jammu and Kashmir, a statement issued by the party said.
“Maha Shivratri is the harbinger of togetherness and brotherhood and that spirit needs to be preserved always”, Rana said at a Shivratri Milan hosted by Provincial Vice President Anil Dhar. Prominent academicians, intellectuals, artists and political activists participated in the Shivratri Milan that reflected the bonhomie and highlighted the shining ethos of unity in diversity.
Rana recalled the contribution of Kashmiri Pandits in the different fields of life, especially education, healthcare art and culture. This sense of service makes the community professionals distinct and holds a promise for tomorrow, he said hoping Kashmiri Pandits will optimally use their capabilities and channelize their goodwill in bridging gaps, if any, between Jammu & Kashmir and rest of the country.
“Let Kashmiri Pandits along with sagacious people of the Valley and the Duggarland join hands to uphold the traditional values of Jammu and Kashmir, the Provincial President said while recalling the bonhomie between various faiths from times immemorial in J&K. He said the ethos of togetherness is still intact and should be harnessed, maintained and upheld.
Greeting Pandits on Mahashivratri, Rana exuded confidence about the safe and dignified return of the displaced people to their homes and hearths.
