District Development Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin today directed the concerned authorities to initiate measures to assess the extent of Crop Loss due to the prevailing circumstances in the district. The loss assessment may be done in reference to the Master Direction of RBI on “Relief Measures by Banks in Areas affected by Natural Calamity”.
He said that in the backdrop of the prevailing situation in the State, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has immediately sought the details of the crop loss. He said that master directions will be applicable to affected farmers and loanees.
DDC directed the Banks for making arrangements to render banking services in the affected areas by setting up satellite offices, extension counters and mobile banking facilities. He also directed the concerned Banks to restore the ATMs where ever possible or making alternate arrangements for the convenience of farmers.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Saleem Malik, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shopian, District Lead Bank Manager, and other concerned officers and officials.
