JKEDI orients131 aspirants for self-employment

The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), conducted a day-long Entrepreneurship Orientation Program (EOP) for aspiring entrepreneurs at its Pampore campus on Monday.

The program was attended by 131 aspirants from all 10 districts of Kashmir division. These aspirants have enrolled themselves under the Term Loan Scheme of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India to start their own business ventures.

The EOP was coordinated by Shabir Hussain Shah, Majid Parvaiz, Aamir Shafiq, Iram Hussaine, and Iram Rufai. The program was aimed at orienting the aspirants towards entrepreneurship so that they are able to manage their business ventures successfully.
During the day-long orientation program, the aspiring entrepreneurs were briefed about the different aspects of financing under the Term Loan Scheme like approval of loan, formalities required, disbursement process, repayment mode and schedule, recovery process, maintenance of books of accounts and soft skills (customer-relationship management, communication and personality development) required to manage their business ventures successfully.
JKEDI is an additional State Channelizing Agency (SCA) for the implementation of the Term Loan and Education Loan scheme of NMDFC, New Delhi.

Under the Term Loan scheme these 130 aspiring entrepreneurs with varied educational background shall be provided soft loan at a concessional rate of interest to help them establish their business ventures.

The loan amount shall be repayable by the beneficiaries in quarterly instalments over a period of five years.

The institute shall be holding similar EOPs for orientation of more educated unemployed youth in the coming days.
