A destitute octogenarian (90 year old) women, Asro Devi of Panchayat Sarar, Block Chenani, has all praise for innovative Back to Village programme as she became the proud owner of a Pacca house under Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme completed post phase I.
Leading a lonely life with her three children having died many years back, the elderly woman had one room Kutcha house shelter for herself and cattle. She was sanctioned a house under PMAY in 2018-19.
During Back to Village Phase-I programme, the Principal Secretary Planning, Rohit Kansal, during his visit to Panchayat Sarar, found that the sanctioned house was under construction and at plinth level.
Immediately, he passed on the spot directions to the concerned authorities to expedite the work and handover the house to the owner after completion of the work.
As the second phase of the programme is underway, the newly constructed Pacca house was formally handed over to the beneficiary in presence of Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla and the concerned visiting officer.
The elderly woman thanked Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal, district administration, RDD for sanctioning PMAY house and also showered blessings on all who helped her in the construction of house.
