LS Polls: Clashes erupts in Kulgam, four injured in pellet firing

Srinagar

Four youth were injured after government forces on Monday fired pellets on protestors in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, where polling is underway for Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency.

Reports said that scores of the people especially youth assembled in Kujar Kulgam clashes with government forces deployed for polling duty and polling stations and forces retaliated by using tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protestors resulting in injuries to four youth.

The injured youth were identified as Khalif Ahmad son of Basir Ahmad a resident of Monghall, Waseem Ahmad son of Ghulam Ahmad, Zahid Ahmad son of Mohamad Shafi and Shakir Ahmad son of Farooq Ahmad all residents of Kujar area of Frisal in Kulgam.

An eyewitness told Kashmir Life, “Four youth were injured who were taken to Anantnag hospital and two of them were referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.”

When last reports came in polling amid clashes were going on.
